As many others have documented, all growth has an entropy price. The cost is gross and widespread toxic environmental pollution, destruction of the health of their own ecosystems and food production base, and all the carbon emissions necessary to produce all of China’s exports for the rest of Western Capitalism. I agree that the Chinese Empire has been pragmatic and extracted much temporary benefit for themselves. They adopted, copied and rescaled all of western science, technology and extractive and social engineering. Theirs and our problems are all the same, which is the problems of global technological machine civilisation. This comparison of the race between nations for digging the deepest holes for our future mass graves, does indicate China is taking a global lead with our conniving.
