I did not know about the rubber apocalypse.

We cannot electrify our Titanic to stop our collapse.

We have high overshoot at the end of cheap oil.

All mined minerals are depleted including soil,

All the best sand to build with has been used.

Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphate fertilizers abused.

Our fresh water aquifers are being sucked dry.

As global warming causes droughts, our crops die.

Many people are suffering for lack of clean water,

Deluges of rain wash others away with awesome power,

Still we drill baby, grow, and build, burn ever more,

In order to feed power into more machines galore

Lands get fracked, cracked with nasty toxins injection,

Oceans have more heat waves, plastics replacing plankton,

Forever chemicals have been diluted into every living thing,

To mess with all cell division, reproduction rates are falling.

Mass extinctions are well on the way with populations crashing.

As carrying capacity falls, like dominoes in chains,

People cannot flee, as more wars and chaos reigns.

Only after human density falls to the very low,

and human impacts on nature are sufficiently slow,

some life systems may recover enough,

to give the human race just one more go.
