I scanned the Astrophysics article. They measure UV variation in a selected bunch of relatively nearby stars. Probably gives the best signal. Fortunately most of our sun’s energy output is in the visible light range. Estimates of solar variation in future decades will be barely a blip in rising heat of global warming from greenhouse gases.
