I would try to name this, the fossil fuelled global empire. The current world “order” is definitely a coal -> oil & gas powered and fed , resource exploited empire. Everything is organised around energy supply. The most cogent writer on this might be Richard Heinberg , maybe the recent world orders historian, Alfred McCoy, “To Govern the Globe”. Yes, we West Asians have been trying to do this for quite a long time.
