My confirmation biases through the exposure to many information sources along these lines agrees with the many details of our civilization eating the biosphere and non-renewable resources our whole systems depend on, and being unable to stop itself. We cannot be all as fortunate in cultural upbringing as the Amish. Forming simplification communities does not stop the majority culture we are still a part of from extincting our world.
