That’s is a good and true lesson in climate science history and politics. It is still being learned by finance and political leaders, who are about 30 years behind in climate science, being too busy in crisis and money management. Our oil based global empire economy is too brittle and non-substitutable. Too complex and too bureaucratic, enslaved to growth systems of the past. Tradition is a whole of society thing. Levers of society systems are pulled hard in a traditional wrong direction. “It’s just a squall”. Looking at the big infinite storm ahead. Only now global oil supply decline looks to bite with inflation and economic mayhem, at the same time as growing climate casualties. This leads to tight corner situation of insufficient time and economic alternative resources left for climate and economic mitigation. Until soon our best no other choice option left is rapid global industrial economic collapse. Abandon ship, man the lifeboats.
