The collapse of our complex systems of civilisation is a natural process. Reality always wins. The Minerals Council of Australia today flexes its political muscle-men to get the word “Environment” out of all Australian federal government law books, like it has successfully and permanently done for previous attempts at legislation about climate change. That is our political reality.

Meanwhile in Sydney this morning I hear on the radio that Darwin and Northern Territory of Australia are having an early heat wave and fire crisis, record high temperatures for August, 38 degrees C, (100 deg F), before we are barely out of our cooler season. A “water-bomber” helicopter is being dispatched from another state to help deal with bush fires, which could threaten parts of the city of Darwin.

Year round fires all around the globe look like they shall be a sign of our hellish times. With more global warming to come, we ain’t seen nothing yet.
