The last statement, that the India state can somehow return to its former glory, is a physical impossibility. The quality and availability of natural resources exploited by the generations of Mughal empire has disappeared. Meanwhile the human population has exponentiated and changed. All history is an irreversible process. Empires and particularly industrial empires are like stars destined to burn their fuel fast and explode like super-nova. India is in the equatorial “hot-zone” of our near future global warming flip stable state into hot-house earth, where dense long term human residence is likely to be very different if it is even possible.
