We are Homo Colossus as described in book “Overshoot” by Catton, and we are evolved to exploit new plentiful low entropy resources like fossil fuels and grow unchecked until we encounter limits to growth, like collapsing global carrying capacity. Nothing exceptional at all in HC like Wetiko in consuming an entire continent. It is in our animal thermodynamic nature, metabolism and growth come from energy flow. As we consume the world the global nations divorce ourselves mentally from future reality of the end results, deny and lie, and continue to compete to be the last survivor of the systemic biosphere killers.
