We would need to have vast amounts of energy and materials, and sophisticated engineering to build an international space station that is long term inhabitable, has rotational gravity and is stable. Or perhaps even a moon base. Or a space elevator, or any other science fiction concepts that require independence from our solar-powered biosphere and its vast evolved biodiversity that is now in danger of collapse and mass extinctions. Since we can't build a decent bio-habitat off the earth, then why are we rapidly destroying the only one we are ever going to have? Are we just angry with the Universe? We are punishing all life with our overshoot, including ourselves, for granting the us privilege of life, knowledge and having to waste much fossil fuel energy all at once. Perhaps the universe is better off without us.
